Clinical Scientist

VeraSci, a subsidiary of WCG, combines innovative science and technology to advance and improve the clinical trials process for many leading pharmaceutical companies. Our flagship product, Pathway, is a fully customizable eCOA platform designed to accommodate multiple cognitive, clinical, and functional outcome measures and provides streamlined data collection, improves the quality of test results, and enables seamless and secure data transfer from clinical sites to our cloud-hosted portal.

The Clinical Scientists at VeraSci, a subsidiary of WCG, help support projects from a clinical perspective across therapeutic areas (schizophrenia, depression, AD, PD, dermatology, PTSD, ADHD) in conjunction with project management.  VeraSci Clinical Scientists are primarily responsible for site rater training, monitoring of study data, training and calibration of internal data reviewers and supporting the development of new assessments on Pathway.


Location: US Remote

Education Requirements: Graduate degree in psychology, social work, counseling, psychiatric nursing or related field required.



  • Assist in developing and implementing VeraSci’s short and long range scientific and clinical goals
  • Provide scientific and clinical input to study design
  • Provide scientific and clinical input in the development of VeraSci proprietary tools
  • Work with study sponsors and the program development team to identify clinical scales and versions appropriate for the study
  • Work with the technology development team to ensure written requirements meet the study needs
  • Serve as a Scientific Lead for studies as assigned
  • Review, analyze, and interpret clinical and neurocognitive test data
  • Oversee clinical and neurocognitive rater certification and data quality control for multi-site pharmaceutical company trials
  • Create technical content for marketing and sales initiatives and give presentations to current and potential clients and other interested parties
  • Serve as a VeraSci representative to the scientific community and industry
  • Other duties as assigned




  • Minimum 4 years’ experience administering psychiatric symptom rating scales and/or neurocognition scales, experience with structured diagnostic interviews preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a clinical trial or research setting or other clinical setting preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical and/or research settings in working with adults with neurological, mood, and/or psychiatric disorders
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting assessments and administering standardized scales within a clinical and/or research context
  • Scientific background which includes strong research experience in the design and implementation of human studies in neurological, mood, and/or psychiatric disorders
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation and large group presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team environment
